Endotoxin Testing:
Protecting Research Integrity
Endotoxins (lipopolysaccharides, or LPS) are bacterial byproducts that can distort research outcomes, especially in in-vivo or cell-based studies. Even trace amounts can cause:
- Inflammatory responses in models
- Skewed assay results
- False positives in biomarker studies
- Contaminated or failed experiments
What We Use: LAL (Limulus Amebocyte Lysate) Assay
- We use the USP <85> bacterial endotoxin testing standard, the most widely accepted method in pharmaceutical and research labs.
- Every batch is tested using the LAL chromogenic method, which is highly sensitive and capable of detecting endotoxins down to <0.01 EU/mL.
Why This Matters:
- Many suppliers either skip this test or claim “low endotoxins” without data.
- A “clean” product by visual standards can still contain dangerous levels of LPS.
